A Message from the Executive Director

I thank you for your interest in CASA of the Mid-Shore. With your help, we can fulfill our mission to provide a CASA volunteer to every child who needs one by his or her side, continuing our work to help ensure that every child is safe and loved. Please visit our website to learn more about how you make a difference not only today, but also for the future health of the children and our region. On behalf of the Board of Directors, our volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates, our staff, and the children we serve, I thank you for caring about our communities’ children.

— Robin Davenport, Executive Director

What Is CASA Of The Mid-Shore?

CASA of the Mid-Shore advocates for children who are under the protection of the Circuit Courts of Talbot, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s, and Kent Counties due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Court Appointed Special Advocate’s (CASA) are officers of the court and, as such, make assessments and recommendations to the judge regarding the best interest of the child to whom they are appointed. We are committed to serving as many children as possible who have been maltreated and who desperately need someone to stand by their side to speak up for their needs, safety, and permanence.

What Is The Need?

In an ideal world, CASA services wouldn’t be necessary because children would not be abused, neglected, or abandoned. The sobering reality is there are many children across our country and in our local communities who are terribly mistreated or ignored by the very adults responsible for nurturing them. Those are the children who need CASA services. We continue to build our program in order to do everything that we can so that every child who needs a Court Appointed Special Advocate by his or her side gets one.
