Talking to Children & Youth about Gun Violence

We are at a loss for words at the recent gun violence and horrors happening in our country. The most recent deadly mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, Laguna Woods, California, and this week, Uvalde, Texas are preventable tragedies. These tragedies make us feel hopeless, powerless, angry, and sad. As parents, foster parents, caregivers, and CASAs, we are forced to have scary conversations with our children and youth about gun violence. Today we offer our CASA community a few resources to help with these discussions. Our children and youth need us to provide support, structure, coping skills, and hope.
